The Kingdom of the Netherlands has a new consul in Medellín
Last Thursday, February 23th, the official inauguration of Mr. Micha Vosse as the new honorary consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Antioquia, Córdoba and Choco took place in Medellín, Antioquia. The event, which was held at Hotel Diez in the Antioquian capital, brought more than 100 people together belonging to the Dutch and Dutch Caribbean business community residing in the city, as well as important stakeholders of the Colombian private and public sector, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bogotá, Holland House Colombia, and the Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX).
The event was inaugurated by Ambassador H.E. Ernst Noorman, who emphasized the importance of the role of the consul in the region given the significant commercial ties with the Kingdom, the influx of tourists and the support in healthcare, especially for patients from Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. Likewise, he also recalled that, as neighbouring countries due to its proximity to the Dutch Caribbean, Colombia and the Kingdom have developed important cooperative ties that have collaborated on projects of great impact in Colombia.
It is significant to recognize the importance of the region and Antioquia for the Kingdom. Given its remarkable proximity to the Dutch Caribbean Islands attracts hundreds of tourists every year. Furthermore, Medellin has become an important recreational, cultural and commercial destination to boost their business, especially in IT and Agribusiness sectors, which are powerful industries that dominate the area.
