Holland House and the Government of Cundinamarca promote the internationalization of coffee and panela from Cundinamarca
During the month of June, we worked in close collaboration with four associations in the coffee and sugarcane sectors, strategically selected by the Government of Cundinamarca, with the objective of promoting their internationalization. Through the Program for the Preparation of Prioritized Associations for Internationalization in the Netherlands and the Caribbean, we provided accompaniment and advice to these associations.
Since the beginning of the project we have carried out an in-depth characterization of the market, focusing on the products of each association and their export potential. Furthermore, on June 2 we organized a group training session at the Governors Hall of the Government of Cundinamarca which was designed to provide the associations with the most important knowledge and information on how to successfully access the markets of the Netherlands and the Caribbean, as well as valuable negotiation techniques, identification of requirements and the necessary certifications in order to access these markets.
We also organized on-site visits to the places where the associations are located, in Útica, Viotá, Nocaima and Uaque, among others. These locations houses the farms, crops and processing plants for panela and coffee products. During these specialized consultancies, we focused on closing gaps and taking advantage of identified opportunities, in order to carry out a detailed review of products with export potential in the defined target markets. Particular goals were established and specific doubts were resolved, paving the way for the next stage in July, where virtual agendas will be set up.
Our aim is that they feel supported at all times and make the most of this opportunity in order to close gaps and prepare in an effective way for the virtual agendas that will come.
We are delighted by the achievements so far and look forward to continue to drive the internationalization of these partnerships. Together, we are creating new opportunities within international markets and promoting the economic growth of Cundinamarca.
