Barranquilla, 3 – 7 December 2023

Registration for the Trade Mission on Port Development in Latin America, organized by the Regional Business Development (RBD) team of the Netherlands Embassies in Latin America, is now open!

According to the Latin American Development Bank (CAF) over $58 billion USD of investments in the port sector are needed in Latin America by 2040, of which $15 billion USD are expected to be invested in the next few years.

Identify your opportunities for port development, digitalization, and sustainability in the region with a trade mission to the Latin American Conference of Ports ‘AAPA’ in Barranquilla. Broaden your network with representatives of the various port authorities in Latin America!

AAPA Conference

The annual Latin American Congress of Ports organized by the Latin American Delegation of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) attracts key players from the Latin American and international maritime sector. Every year, more than 400 port leaders, company representatives, and international experts participate in the conference. The conference will address current challenges for ports; such as digitalization, energy transition, climate change, and its consequences for the ports and maritime sector. It will also update you on upcoming port development projects in Latin America.

The trade mission program offers tailor-made matchmaking and networking meetings, and field visits.

Participating companies from the Kingdom (Netherlands, Curaçao, Aruba and St Maarten)

The many developments in the maritime sector create opportunities for the following companies:

• Companies providing auxiliary maritime and logistics services

• Providers of port construction, development, and operations

• Dredging and other wet construction companies

• Shipbuilders and maritime industry

• Shipping companies and operators

• Experts in port digitalization

• Consultants

Your company is recommended to participate at the level of general manager or regional business/country manager.
